Can You Help? <3Buut I need all the help I can get. I need to save money, buy land and find people nearby willing to help. I already have 3 people wanting to get involved.
So, I was wondering if anyone else would like to get involved. I don't mean send me money or anything, but help me look for land, houses, companies that would like to help, people that also want to start one, someone that would donate something to help begin, anything even advice! There are too many animals that I have seen or know about that need help and it hurts to know that there are dozens more out there.
Any help that I can get would be really appreciated!

And hey, that's exactly what I want to do! I'm currently attending Oklahoma State University to get a degree in zoology. After I've got it, instead of going back to the sanctuary at which I volunteered for years, I want to open one of my own. I'm definitely thinking we'll have big cat specialization (I *love* big cats, and there's a shortage of room for them).
Good luck with your idea, though! It's a little rough -- sanctuaries don't get a lot of money coming in since corporate sponsors always go for zoos, and private donations tend to pay only for single enclosures and are never sufficient. Safari's (my local favorite I spent a few years at) gets all of its money from visitors, but that doesn't pay for expansion, only the bare minimum food.
It's a rough thing to do, and is like having six jobs and no vacations, but it is definitely worth it!

I'm going to volunteer at a shelter (there isn't an Animal Sanctuary close enough
I'm actually wanting to start off with smaller animals like dogs, cats, horses and other farm animals. Then when I have enough money saved and some of the other animals are adopted out, I'll expand it to some bigger animals like big cats, wolves and hybrids.
Surprisingly, a lot of the Sanctuaries I've talked to says I don't need schooling. =/
But just to be safe I'm going to get as much schooling as I need.
